Technology is transforming how we do our jobs, and employees expect the business to accommodate their work habits. › Companies must identify roles and profiles and support their needs. Not every employee will require the same devices to get their jobs done efficiently and effectively. It is paramount for organizations to seek out specific devices to enable different worker personas. › IT must become a trusted partner to keep security top of mind. Employees showed a lack of trust toward IT when facing an issue with their device or ecosystem. It is imperative for IT to become part of the solution and not the problem; otherwise, workers will find ways to go around security policies and fix problems on their own, putting the firm at even more risk. › Employees require a more complete ecosystem. Employees need not only devices to get their jobs done effectively but an entire ecosystem as well. Without this, businesses will fall further behind in a fiercely competitive market and lose employ

There’s plenty of room in the digital economy for traditional retailers, as long as they shift focus from the products they offer to the experiences they provide, blending the physical and digital worlds to offer distinct and personalized shopping experiences and unleashing the untapped power of emerging new ecosystems. At the heart of retail’s ongoing transformation is a shift in focus from the point of sale to the point of experience. Retailers that will thrive and prosper in the digital economy will be those that think beyond the products they sell to providing hyper-personalized shopping experiences that surprise and delight the consumer at each interaction, regardless of channel or touchpoint. This white paper illuminates these strategic imperatives and delivers actionable recommendations to established retailers seeking to convert challenge into opportunity amid growing concern that they should merely concede victory to digitally-native companies.

The world has changed. Yesterday everyone had a managed PC for work and all enterprise data was behind a firewall. Today, mobile devices are the control panel for our personal and professional lives. This change has contributed to the single largest technology-driven lifestyle change of the last 10 years. As productivity tools, mobile devices now access significantly more data than in years past. This has made mobile the new frontier for a wide spectrum of risk that includes cyber attacks, a range of malware families, non-compliant apps that leak data, and vulnerabilities in device operating systems or apps. A secure digital business ecosystem demands technologies that enable organizations to continuously monitor for threats and provide enterprise-wide visibility into threat intelligence. The rise of virtualization as a business tool has dramatically enhanced server and primary storage utilization. By allowing multiple operating systems and applications to run on a single physical server, organizations can significantly lower their hardware costs and take advantage of efficiency and agility improvements as more and more tasks become automated. This also alleviates the pain of fragmented IT ecosystems and incompatible data silos. Currently, this virtualization juggernaut shows no sign of slowing. As businesses recognize the potential for increased reliability and scalability offered by virtual technology, they are ramping up their investments in data center modernization and upgrading. In fact, 33 percent of the respondents to a recent ESG survey on cloud usage said that making greater use of server virtualization was one of their top five spending priorities for the next 12 to 18 months.

This also alleviates the pain of fragmented IT ecosystems and incompatible data silos. Protecting these virtualized environments, however, and the ever-growing amount of structured and unstructured data being created, still requires a complex, on-prem secondary storage model that imposes heavy administrative overhead and infrastructure costs. The increasing pressure on IT teams to maintain business continuity and information governance are changing how businesses view infrastructure resiliency and long-term data retention—they are consequently looking to new solutions to ensure immediate availability and complete protection of the

Take a look at the IT ecosystem of any company today and there’s a good chance you’ll find it includes offerings from several cloud services providers. That’s certainly the case at mid- to large-sized companies with at least 500 employees, according to a recent survey conducted by IDG Research. The survey of 100 senior IT professionals found that 59% are already multi-cloud adopters — that is, using computing and storage services from two or more cloud providers. Another 31% of respondents say they plan to become multi-cloud organizations in the coming 12-24 months, with only 10% still in the “consideration” phase.

The Internet of Things (IoT) didn’t just connect everything everywhere; It laid the groundwork for the next industrial revolution. Connected devices sending data was only one achievement of the IoT—but one that helped solve the problem of data spread across countless silos that was not collected because it was too voluminous and/or too expensive to analyze. Now, with advances in cloud computing and analytics, cheaper and more scalable factory solutions are available. This, in combination with the cost and size of sensors continuously being reduced, supplies the other achievement: the possibility for every organization to digitally transform. Using a Smart Factory system, all relevant data is aggregated, analyzed, and acted upon. Sensors, devices, people, and processes are part of a connected ecosystem providing: • Reduced downtime • Minimized surplus and defects • Deep insights • End-to-end real-time visibility

While the Affordable Care Act (ACA) increased the number of Americans with access to health insurance, U.S. employers and employees continue to struggle with rising health care costs and changing workforce demands. Recent Aon research shows that 20% of health care consumers cite high health care costs as the major reason they have either declined health care coverage, stopped taking medications, or avoided care altogether. If the U.S. health care system is to succeed, stakeholders across the health ecosystem must influence change in each market—employer, individual, and government (Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare). While each part of the three-legged stool is important, this paper focuses on five strategies Aon believes will strengthen the employer-based system—a system that provides health care coverage to well over half of Americans (61%, or 177 million).

Stay ahead of the evolving threats. Organized crime is driving the rapid growth and sophisticated evolution of advanced threats that put entire website ecosystems at risk, and no organization is safe. The stealthy nature of these threats gives cybercriminals the time to go deeper into website environments, very often with severe consequences. The longer the time before detection and resolution, the more damage is inflicted. The risk and size of fines, lawsuits, reparation costs, damaged reputation, loss of operations, loss of sales, and loss of customers pile up higher and higher. The complexity of website security management and lack of visibility across website ecosystems is further impacted by the fact that it is nearly impossible to know how and where to allocate resources. Website security must be evolved in line with these growing threats and challenges.
